The Crowne Plaza is a wonderful Deluxe hotel situated on Wellington Street in Leeds. It is a a few minutes from the train station and is in a relatively quiet location. The hotel has its own car park which is an added bonus, although you do have to pay for this if you ask nicely at reception they often will provide you with a ticket to get out for free. The hotel is very well maintained and I have to say that the hotel staff are absolutely fantastic. The lobby is very elegantly done and has an almost regal feeling about it, with the grand staircase and big chandeliers. The check in process is very easy and efficient, even more so for regulars as they have a special checkin desk just for senior priority club members.
The standard rooms in the hotel are a decent size and are all very clean and very nicely decorated. There is a nice relaxing feel throughout the hotel and is ideal for a quiet stay. The beds are very large and comfortable and allows for an undisturbed night’s sleep. The air conditioning can be a bit loud at times but keeps the room wonderfully cool in summer. As for the bathrooms, they are quite spacious and immaculately clean and nice smelling, with lovely toiletries. The Internet access throughout the hotel is very good. Room service is absolutely wonderful and you get a call a few minutes before your food is due to arrive, which is great.
The amenities at the hotel are fantastic, with a great heated indoor pool and sauna. The Spirit Health club is very spacious and with a great range of equipments. The hotel restaurant serves decent food but I found it to be quite pricey for what was on offer. The Roundhay Bar and Lounge is ideal for light bites and also offers Starbucks coffee, which will make all coffee lovers happy and has a very relaxing atmosphere. There are some great bars around the hotel such as the lively Wellington Pub which is just a few minutes away and definitely worth a visit. There are also some great restaurants on Wellington Street including the Italian restaurant Mio Modo (which is a personal favorite) if you do not want to venture into the heart of Leeds city centre. The Crowne Plaza is definitely a great hotel to stay at and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and will ensure that you have a good time.

42 The Calls is a luxury 4 star boutique hotel situated next to the River Aire and is one of the very best Hotels in Leeds. This townhouse hotel is an 18th century Fletland Mill, that was bought by hotelier Jonathan Wix in 1991 and renovated at a cost of £19.5 million. The Leeds hotel is now part of The Eton Collection. It is one of the most gorgeous hotel that you will get to stay in and has wonderful views over the river.
The original features of the mill are very prominent throughout the hotel and adds mountains of character. The chic decor of the rooms work well with the beamed ceilings and authentic wooden window shutters. Each room is elegantly decorated, with big comfortable beds and the bed linen is just exquisite, making your sleep even more delightful. The original paintings in the rooms just add to the individuality of each room. The ensuite bathrooms are quite spacious, offering both shower and bath facilities, with luxury toiletries and there is a little frog soap presented on a washcloth.
It is the little touches and treats at 42 The Calls that truly makes this a unique boutique hotel. My favourite treat is the little smarties boxes, that I found quite peculiar at first but it is just a really cute gesture. All the rooms I believe, get the complimentary fudge and shortbread, and you even get a free glass of wine on arrival. The breakfast at the hotel is simply fantastic, with delicious homemade bread and jams, free range sausages and eggs and even the little ketchup jars were organic. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
42 The Calls is definitely an opulent and sybaritic hotel and provides a memorable stay. The hotel is ideally located with some great bars and restaurants around and it’s only a 3 or 4 minute walk from Leeds city centre. Without having to venture too far, there are some great bars on the doorstep of the hotel, with The Oracle being just over the bridge from the and The Calls Landing which is less than 2 minutes away. The quiet surrounding of the waterfront is very relaxing and is ideal for taking a walk along the river.

They have a great lunch menu which is very good value for menu and allows you to mix and match your food. I have to say that the burger is absolutely gorgeous and very filling but if you are after something lighter, then the salads are great. The bar and coffee area is open plan and airy, with plenty of space so you will not be squashed together.
One of the great appeals of the Hilton is its 14-metre heated pool.
